Susana La Porta Drago and Axel Zemborain established La Porta Drago | Zemborain Architects in 2023. Each of them brings over 30 years of experience from working at Cesar Pelli’s office, where they reached the highest tiers of the firm and led the design of award-winning projects around the world. 

In their own practice, Susana and Axel continue their extensive trajectory of projects with simple, elegant, and timeless forms that emerge from the celebration of their cultural heritage and context.

Susana and Axel met at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, where they both earned Diplomas of Architecture. They later obtained their Master’s degrees in Architecture and Urbanism from Cornell University.

Susana is a Professor at Yale School of Architecture, where she teaches a graduate course on ‘Architecture Practice and Management’. Additionally, Axel has been a guest speaker at numerous international architectural conferences.
